So looks like the last time I logged in was 09-04-2011 lol. Any who, I've long since sold the X-Type but just took position of an 07 BRG XKR. 54k miles on the clock and in pretty great condition overall for it's age, just needs a TPMS sensor on the passenger side front tire.
I just got an iCarsoft scanner so I'll be doing a full diagnosis to see if there is anything else that needs sorting.

Thanks all for the recommendations. To be honest I regretted selling the X-Type almost as soon as it was gone! My Defender scratches one itch so I needed the XKR to scratch the other. I'm really enjoying the it a lot so all is well!
