Not so New Member From Alberta
I've been a member on this forum for almost a month now. I just realized I hadn't posted in this section and thought to remedy that today.
As the title says I live in Alberta Canada. Calgary to be exact. I currently don't own a Jag, but I hope to change that within the next month if all goes well. I'm looking to purchase an X-Type which will make my winters smooth going. I had a Lexus GS300 last winter and with winter tires it went well enough most days. However on side streets it was still unnerving at times because they don't get cleared and the snow gets hard and eventually turns into ice causing my traction control to work constantly
. Also a couple times driving on the highway i felt the car lose control and luckily I was driving slow enough to regain control without incident. My hopes are that being in the X-type with aid me in my future winter driving.
Being that this will also be my first British Car, I am looking forward to the new ownership experience. I used regular in most of my cars previously from time o time without fault, but I think that I'll stick to premium to avoid any issues here
. I know that perhaps the car may not like ethanol so premium fuels don't contain ethanol where I live.
I thank you all for welcoming me thus far.

welcome to the forum - you will find plenty of info and support here
since you are looking at an X-type - there are threads in the X-type section on things to look out for - plus there are a ton of how to's , etc
To add a logo/pic next to your screen name - click the User CP link in the upper left - and then click Edit Avatar - you may need to size the pic to fit
also recommend adding a signature to your profile by clicking the edit signature link just below the avatar link

Thanks for posting an intro- it's never too late to say hello. You've probably noticed a significant number of Canadians using the site. I guess we must have good taste in cars!
To add a pic (called an avatar) go to 'user CP' on the left side of the black bar above. Scroll down to 'Settings and options' and choose 'edit avatar'.

Welcome trugr8ns ... and greetings from fellow enthusiasts in Australia.
Your choice of the Jaguar X-Type to battle your arctic winters sounds a very smart move and you will find plenty of resources, advice and shared friendship here ... so dive in and enjoy.
Best wishes,
Ken

I grew up a little ways South of Calgary so I understand exactly the Winters you experience.

Thank you all for welcoming me as well as offering pointers to make my journey easier.
I may have found my Car!
It's a Silver X-type with Black interior, 3.0 Sport (Manual w Nav). It isn't local to me, so hopefully I have it in my hands in a month. So I shall soon be saying goodbye to the Lexus it seems.
