Default Picking up an XKR within a month or so, got some questions.

Hey everyone!
I'm Remii, ill be picking up an 2000 XKR within a month or so. It's going to be my first car so I'm super excited about it.

Besides the timing chain what are some common problems with the XKRs, and also does anyone have any regrets about buying one?

Thanks for your time!
Remii Mielke

Welcome to the forum Remii,
Timing chains should not be a problem, but check you have the latest generation tensioners.
Give the car's electric system a good going over starting with a fully charged serviceable battery.
Other than that, enjoy the car and the forum.

Welcome to the forum Remii,

It's going to be long month waiting for the day!

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. If you're new to this model, the 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US Western Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

If it's a convertible consider a pressure limiting valve otherwise just enjoy it.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I'll be sure to upload pics when I pick up my jag. Seems like this is a great community to be part of!

As in your very first car? Or your first jag? Cause that's a sweet first car! (Mine was a 1978 Pontiac LeMans, but I still loved it!)

First car thats 100% mine. I've been sharing a 1999 porsche 911 with my older brother for the last few years. It will be a great car to start at the university with!

I've been bitten by the jag bug!!!!
