I have a xj8 v8 3500 se on an 04 plate,and have just bought a replacement purge valve,to save me endless time can anyone tell me where to find the purge valve

Welcome aboard toshack. To answer your question, the Techs are fantastic but even they might struggle to tell you where you left it!
