I am a new used Jag owner. Came to the site just looking for info on the headlamp issue and decide to register and login.

I got my 2001 S type 4L V8 the other weekend. Not sure what the color is called but it is light blue. I will get pics posted once I am allowed. We went to the auto auction to actually by my son a car.

We weren't even looking for another car for myself. I saw the Jag sitting there, but didn't even go look at it. It was all nice and pretty but just didn't think I could win it a the auction. So we were sitting at line watching cars come through and my wife turns to me and says I am bidding on the Jag, I said yeah right.

So she did and the price went up and finally settled out and before I knew it we owned a Jag. After the initial shock wore off I finally went and took a look at the Jag and was quite pleased. In good shape both interior and exterior.

It has a few issues like the headlights and the 2 passenger side window don't work but other than that it is fantastic Once we got home my wife turned to me and said happy birthday. WOW what a present.

I have always liked JAGS but to actually own one, just WOW. Now all I have to do is get it inspected. Going out to try the headlight fix Wish me luck.

 

Welcome to the forum, Ray! Great story, and happy birthday! You'll find the headlight fix by Brutal (in S-type stickies, I believe) to be a very easy and effective fix for drooping headlights unless all the mounting points have broken, in which case you may be helped by JoycesJag's bumper removal with pics and my own "I made the mistakes so you don't have to" thread. (and send the wife out shopping - you'll need her oven for car parts) If just foggy, there are myriad threads on several possible fixes in both the S-type and Detailing forums. Enjoy! Thanks for the warm welcome. I will be using the forum alot in the next 30 days, got a few things to fix before inspection. Also didn't know it was supercharged until I pulled the plastic engine cover off, MAN WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE.
