Default Rear driver side wheel/differential noise???

I have a 2006 XKR. Love it but it is getting old.

I have a strange noise like a loud pop from rear wheel area while driving. It occurs between 5 and 40 mph, and only when I let off the gas pedal. (More noticeable at slow speeds, like when hunting for a parking spot.) Not occurring when braking, occurs on smooth or rough roads, not occurring while accelerating or driving on highway. Starting to be more frequent. Any clues?

Welcome to the forum Gery,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

From your description of the noise, it could be one of the UJ's on the halfshaft starting to break up. Another possibility is failed bush(es) on the rear A Frame.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
