Hi can someone help me please. I have a Jag X-type 2.00 diesel year 2010 i have a Engine malfunction ( amber ) light coming on., and it say's Specialised diagnostic equipment is required to repair such faults. Report the fault to a Jag Dealer / Authorised Repairer.
The vehicle may go to limp home mode, with the possibility of reduced engine performance. Drive the vehicle with caution.
I did drive it home slowly about 3kms, and had no problems is there something i can check or do myself ?

You only need a simple (low cost!) code reader plugged into the vehicle OBD diagnostic port to be able to read the error code(s) setting the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). Once you have the code(s), members in the X-Type forum will be able to interpret them and tell you how the fix them.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
