Default S Type drive problem

Been looking for an S Type for a few years now, I no longer feel for the modern cars!
Finally bought one but it has an issue pulling away sometimes. Put it in drive and rev but it hardly moves. Re-boot and it will fly.
Basically, I can put it in drive and there isnt that bite, so if I take my foot off the brake, it won't move!
Any suggestions?
Mike

Welcome to the Forums.

Being a Diesel, I am guessing at a 6 speed, but the year will dictate that.

Trans Fluid, low, stale, overdue for refresh, would be my 1st best guess.

Lots of Info about this in the S Type (X200) Tech Section.

Good luck
