Hello All
As a lurker for a while I have now decided that I need to join as I have now entered the classic ownership brigade.
Just purchased a V8 250 which is languishing in the garage awaiting me swallowing the brave pill and getting started.
I assume you all like to see a photograph or 2 so here goes

Looks pretty OK in this photo, but the term lightly dismantled was used before I bought

Should be interesting !!!!

I shall naturally be asking heaps of silly questions so apologies in advance.
Rob

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Classic Jaguar!
Doncha just Love how some people bandy around diminutives when talking about degrees of disassembly or damage?

You are gonna have SO much fun with this project.
The best part will be NO COMPUTERS! I wish you success.

Welcome to the forums form ElinorB.

Hi All

Many thanks for the warm welcome.
I think I will have my hands full for some while, still only living 35 minutes away from Coventry (where they were built) means
with any luck I can access the specialists I need to do some of the work that is beyond my "pay grade"
A quick inspection reveals yet more interesting news as it seems that I have in the boxes 2 sets of the top end of the engine !!
I am sure whilst researching I never came across a quad carburettor 4 head V8
I sense a few idiotic questions may be on the way !!!....more digging is needed...................

Welcome to the forums Rob,

The scarcer they become, the better the idea to grasp the opportunity.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome. It looks like you have a bit of a project ahead of you. You will find the folks on the MK2 (etc.) forum to be quite knowledgeable and friendly, should you need help...!

Thanks for that.............I love your understatement !! It was that kind of thinking that got me in to this project in the first place.
I am still rummaging about and just staring to formulate a plan.
Will keep you all posted.
