I actually don't mind SD traffic... I don't live along the I-5/I-805 corridor, so I hardly ever get much more than an occasional 50 MPH slowdown at rush hour on my commute. I have family in LA, and their traffic is terrible in all directions at all hours! You can be stuck in stop and go traffic on the 5 near downtown at midnight!

General, I went to school at George Washington University. I-95 traffic is terrible

We San Diegans are actually quite spoiled. We think our rush hour traffic is bad, but we are comparing it to the relative tranquility we enjoy on our freeways at all other hours. It is hard for us to comprehend the round-the-clock grind that folks in LA and DC endure.

Official traffic data agrees with me, ranking San Diego a measly 9th in terms of traffic congestion. Washington DC is 2nd worst, and the worst traffic in the nation is in the LA-Long Beach-Santa Ana metro area.

Yeah, SD is basically paradise.

 

Our traffic gets tolerable at around 7 pm, and again at 10 am. The few hours before either of those times will often make you want to scream.
