Default A swedish X-type - introduction

Hello!

I realize I never actually introduced myself on this forum (sorry moderators) and just threw myself into the x-type forum for help!

I'm a 23 y/o swedish guy, bought my first car listed in signature a few months back and so far I'm enjoying it loads, nearly as much as I'm enjoying learning how to fix it and how everything works (not a car guy at all growing up).
Already getting comfortable with the forum and surprised how fast you get help and how knowledgable and active some of the members are on the x-type forum (thermo & dell I'm talking mainly about you two).

Plans for the car (as soon as Sweden warms up a bit):
- Changing of all fluids (engine, transmission, transfer case, differential)
- Brakes replacement
- Touching up of paint around the cars' frontal area (quite a few stone chips, 2-3 of which got a bit rust growing inside )
- Upgrade of all exterior and interior lights to LED
- Install Adamesh grille and front + rear chrome lamp surrounds (not yet arrived )

What I've done to the car already:

- New battery
- Fixed MIL triggered by code p1646 (replaced worn oxygen sensor (bank 1 sensor 1)
- Fixed two broken speakers (front right & rear right big door speakers from the premium 10-speaker alpine system, replaced with used oem ones)
- Replaced transmission mounted reverse light switch (fixing reverse lights and rear parking sensors)
- Replaced fake leather shift gaiter with real leather one from ebay

Had tons of use from this forum already and will surely have loads more in the future!

Welcome to the forum JaguArvid,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Finally! LOL
It's not necessary to be a "car guy" to learn Tons of useful stuff in here as you have already discovered.
Nice looking X-type by the way.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
