Default Took the plunge and glad to be here

Hello Everyone –

After lurking for most of my 6 month search and learning a lot to be an informed buyer/owner, I finally got enough courage to “catch my cat” on March 10. Of course not the best of timing as now both the Mrs. and I are working half time, prob soon to go to zero, at least for awhile. Same boat as a lot of folks. But, we’re going to stay upbeat and positive! And during this down time I plan to continue reading from this fantastic forum and posting questions where I can’t figure something out. Thanks in advance for the help. I haven’t bought a fun car for myself in 23 years and I am really excited about my F-type. Time will tell if the love lasts, but right now I am pretty pumped despite everyone (including my 4 and 7 year-olds) saying “Are you [bleeping] crazy!?”

Welcome to the forums Clutch,

Good to have you with us. Sorry to hear the current situation has hit your work. No need for me to give you either a link to F-Type forum or a prompt to add vehicle details so I'll simply hope you enjoy your new Jaguar and that you all get through this OK.

Graham

Thank you both. I also wanted to say that I hope everyone out there stays healthy (and employed). Those are far more important than enjoying a new car. My current guilt and second-guessing about the car is def a first-world issue and I am blessed. Hopefully soon everyone around the globe will be back to full health, full employment, and full throttle!

Welcome, I have a bit of that guilt too. We just dragged a parts car home yesterday. It was just too good to pass up. Stay positive!

Thanks everyone, and to Dwayne - seems like it has rained every darn day here in VA since I got the car! Although I do believe cars are meant to be driven, I live off a horrible dirt road and when we get rain, you would not believe the slop and muck and that gets thrown about. It's so horrible I've given up any hope of ever having my truck (daily driver) clean again. Now that I have this F-type, I may have to move!!

We don't have to think about the weather here in England. It's always going to rain!

I grew up in the 1960's and 70's in a house situated along a dirt road. The state finally paved it in the mid-1980's. Once I moved away from home, the one promise I made to myself was that I would NEVER live on another dirt road. I'm almost 63 years old and, so far, have kept that promise. My truck (2018 F-150) is my daily driver as well. It is silver and doesn't show dirt badly at all. I live in the Shenandoah Valley and there is a small chain of automatic car washes that sell unlimited monthly passes for $19.99. My car (dark red) gets washed 2 - 3 times a week, and the truck only about once a week because it never looks dirty.

Dwayne
