I own a 1998 XJ8 and the trunk is not opening by any means. This being said, its not opening using the trunk switch located on top of the trunk, OPEN trunk key located on my Jaguar Remote control or the OPEN trunk Button located next to the driver seat. The only way I can open the TRUNK is by inserting the KEY and opening it.
I DON'T have the owners manual and the fuse box discription doesn't mention TRUNK whatsoever.
PLEASE help me OUT.

 

If you own this make and model of this car, could you please give me an exact location of the fuse and ps the lights in the trunk aren't also working and they are super hot for some reason do anyone know why?

The usual reason for the luggage compartment electrics failing is a break in the harness where it is attached to the hinge.
