Default A Week Into XJR Ownership

well three weeks of ownership, but my first week of using the car everyday.

It's a 2000 X308 with 149k miles on the clock. A few big bills in the recent history (timing chains and tensioners are the ones that leap out) and seems a smooth, quiet replacement for my SAAB 9-5 Aero.

A couple of issues have reared up, i. the radio is old fashioned, even though it's an Alpine Premium and replacement seems difficult to fit, and ii. having spent half an hour looking at the back of said radio, the car wouldn't start.

Put the battery on charge and about an hour later, normal service was resumed, but given that wintery, cold weather is on the way I've ordered a new battery from Battery Megastore, so could be £85 well spent.

Welcome.

Probably the BEST money spent so far.

MAny, many issues with these cars is eventually traced to the battery being "off the boil".
