Default Wife just bought a Jag

My name's David - my wife bought a 2006 X-Type Sovereign Estate 3.0 a few weeks ago. I've been trawling the internet looking for information to help me look after it. I've always done a lot of the routine maintenance on our cars, and even some larger tasks.

I'm looking forward to finding good information here and will contribute myself if I find that I can.

Welcome David! This forum is probably the best place you'll find information, the people here are generally friendly and knowledgeable!

Oh and congrats on the purchase. Those estate wagons are pretty cool, and hard to find!

Yes - it's a nice car.

So far I've 're-engineered' the tailgate glass release switch with a cheap tactile switch from Maplin (water ingress), I've replaced the hi-level brake light with a second hand one (an LED was dead), and have had some progress with improving an 'arthritic' power fold mirror.

Biggest problems seem to be lack of use of some items - the car only had done 26,000 mls in 6 years.
