Hi
i am new to this Forum, but have found from my other passions, that many hobby forums are the best tool in the box. I have just purchased my first Jaguar Daimler. I trust that this forum covers Daimler as well as Jag.
i live in France near Bordeaux, my car is a Daimler 6 1995 4.0. I havnt even used it yet. Obviously I am going to need some help as a newcomer to the car but I am sure this forum will help.
One of my first questions is are there any Jaguar clubs in SW France.
Best Regards
B

Thank you for the welcome.
I have not collected the car yet, next week. I’m a bit nervous as it is my first Jag, you know what it’s like, there’s so much to check before buying, and a million things I forgot to check! Car seems genuine, looks like chauffeur car, as drivers and rear seats a bit worn ,but the front passenger perfect. It’s got massive details on service history and what appears to be genuine 90k miles on the clock.
Ive had many classics before, 1950 s Fords, 1957 Cadillac, *****’s MB jeep 1943, and a GMC Deuce and a half 1943.
Any advice from anybody would be helpful. It needs a bit of tidying but I now have the paint code, so have ordered some touch up cans in advance.
Im looking forward to learning so much, and I’ve managed to find the drivers manuals on this site in English as the books are in French. I can read French but it’s easier in English.
anyway thank you.
regards
B

Thank you all
you know, I have joined many different forums over the years, from model railways, to RC Tanks to militaria collecting, but never before have I had such a warm welcome. I don’t collect the car till next Friday, awaiting a few repairs that the dealer 'says‘ he will repair. Hmm we’ll see. But already with the help of this forum I have established loads of info that I will need. Today I received an original Daimler 6 brochure from 1995 , bought on E bay, and that gives me the correct spec for the car. So all the 'oh this model doesn’t do it' that I’ve been told by Dealers would appear to be rubbish.
I don’t know what more I can add to the signature, but I will look.
thank you all again.
