Recieved 3 helpful tips. I spoke with my local mechanic today and he said that there are two (2) sumps. An upper one and a lower one. The lower one is a two hr project and the $250 suggestion is good. The upper sump requires 10 plus hours and is a major project.

This is an oil cooler motor and holds 7.5 quarts

 

There is an Oil Sump Body (item 1) and an Engine Oil Sump Pan (item 3):



Item 1 is aluminium and item 3 is steel.

There is a gasket (item 7) for the joint between item 1 and item 3.

The joint between item 3 and the cylinder block is made with Loctite 5699 sealant.

His hours timings are not unreasonable.
