Hello all. I've just purchased a 2007 XKR. During the search and inspection phases, I was really glad to be able to reference the knowledge and advice accumulated here.
This one seems to be in pretty good shape overall, 46k miles over two owners who took good care of it. No problems on the 300 mile perfectly-paved freeway rollercoaster through the mountains that I took to get it home to East Tennessee. But of course I sprung a check engine light the day after, so I suppose the next order of business is to run some diagnostics and make a list of everything that still needs correcting or preventative maintenance.
From the backgorund, that looks perfect XK country.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. Hello,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar XKR!
Good Onya DRIVING it 300 miles home. That's the very first step in the Bonding Process that many people simply don't appreciate.
And, it's not too surprising that a Jag of this age with only 46k miles should need some attention. These cars were made to be DRIVEN not as garage queens.
Thanks everyone. Reader just came in the mail, so it looks like the engine light is from a p0128 code. I guess I'll skim previous threads to see which replacement thermostat seems to be working for people.
