SMART car - not the most comfortable ride, but great gas mileage even with only an 8 gal tank. averaging 38mpg. It will be staying and I get to fly back to my Jag and a pleasurable ride!!!!!

Steve,

The things we do for the children - I don't envy you that trip!

Is that the Swatch Art Car?
I do believe they are ugly. Enjoy the drive.

Graham - so true the things we do for them!!

haha Clarke - correct on both counts! it is indeed an ugly car but what my daughter wanted - good on gas and limited to 1 other passenger to minimize distractions or becoming a taxi for all her friends!

Better than Citroen 2CV
I find smart car pretty cute too
However,I doubt it would be a proper car for this kinda job . I had seen a caravan towing a smart car ,I was looking at it while driving for a moment and seeing that thing reminded me of big motoryachts "draggin" small boats .

have gotten a ton of questions about it every time we stop - even had someone ask to measure the wheel base, then he pulled out a tape measure before I could say anything. handles a decent bit of cargo

I sized one up in a parking lot and realised it is basically two motorcycles side by side with a shell.

I also saw one overtake an 18 wheeler beside me on the freeway. We were all doing 75'ish. Gutsy move, I was sure he was going to go up on two wheels

hahaha - someone sent me a video of a SMART vs Mustang - pretty obvious it was a fake but funny none the less.

Arrived in Salt Lake City this afternoon after a fun day of driving!! today's dad n daughter adventure included 20 mph head winds with gusts to 35 (thank u Wyoming for displaying wind warnings). It also reminded me of the children's story "the little engine that could" as there were definitely some struggles between the winds and climbing hills!!!

2227 miles traveled averaging 38 mpg at a cruising speed of around 80 mph
