After a month and 320+ posts, we have all vented, discussed, argued, laughed, cried, etc. about the goofy ad leading up to the debut of the Type nil-nil/ zip-zip/ Oh-Oh.
Just one more point to make that has not been discussed here at all: why have Jaguar and Tata completely neglected to mention their ongoing deep involvement and recent success in motorsports, which in this case relates strongly to a new EV Jag?
"Are you crazy dude, what recent motorsports success?" you ask.
It may seem unbelievable, but Jaguar (Tata) has been participating in the Formula E series for almost ten years. And in 2024, Jaguar took the team championship and the manufactures trophy. Its true! Their two drivers Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans (Kiwis), finished 2nd and 3rd in the drivers championship. 2024 Formula E World Championship
The jaGuar rebirthing marketers intentionally disregarded this. Why? Jaguar is making one of the best electric racecars now. Is that not a marketing windfall, the main reason manufacturers go racing? How about the technology transfer to road-going vehicles? How about PRIDE in their success and in the renewed brand? No, funny looking people in fluffy pastels seemed more on-point.
As all of this nonsense blows over, we can get back to the last of our real Jags and forget this ever happened. With nothing coming from Jaguar for a long time, everyone else will too.
BTW, Mitch Evans won the first race of the 24/25 season in Brazil, on December 7th! But I guess that's not important.
my most successful post ever.... who would have thunks it! Not really making me change how I feel about the last generation of Jags....I just bought a Caldera Red F Type R AWD.
