Default GoPro Fun...

Got a GoPro Hero HD last week and still kinda playing with it. Messed with the photo settings and snapped some photos. At the bottom is a video I shot the first day I got it just to show the video the camera takes. Anyone else got one of these. I think its a cool little toy.

That's nice ... and you found a nice route for it too.

On the leaper shot, where did you mount the camera? I gather that the mounting is quite sturdy to be able to withstand outside-the-car installation?

It has a suction cup mounting system. You clean the area then stick the suction cup and press a button to release all the air then it locks down so it doesnt move at all. Its a sports style camera so its made for car mounting and mounting on other things. There is even a surfboard mount which has some awesome videos. This was the mount I was using and thats the camera it is very small. The route is actually my street I live on. The dirt road is my driveway so I just pulled out turned and drove maybe 2 miles down the road and back stopped to switch mounting locations. For the leaper shot I lined up the lens to get it centered behind the leaper and just suction cupped it to the hood. Had to get it a little offset since the lens was more to the side but I think I got it centered pretty good.

Here is what the surfboard mount looks like. The only bad thing is when I watch some of the videos it makes me want to do some activities I probably shouldn't be doing but the videos looks so awesome. (ie surfing, base jumping etc)

LOL Vance, yeah we know what you really mean!

Great video of the ride from your place, and you look to live in my kind of area.

I felt right at home. Love the woods, nature's church.

Great little camera, I'm going to look more into this. (there are occasions when a little video camera, would serve).

Best,
Rich

I've seen lots of these from car friends on the Dragon. Well worth the price for the entertainment!

Definitly worth it. I played with it some more on my bike. It doesnt have any fairings since it is a streetfighter naked bike so the only place I could mount it was the headlight. The footage was to shaky because of the exhaust on my bike kinda vibrates the whole thing. Next week I'm going to mess with it and get the stick mount mounted on my helmet so I can get some better footage on the bike. I'll throw it up on here when I do it. Going to Florida this week so I will probably bring it with me not sure how much I'll film though so we will have to see.

You should try shooting with it at night on the car with a long shutter speed. It will give you a very cool looking motion like picture.
