Default Best Front Brake Pads

Any opinoins on what the best replacement front brake pads are for an 02 s-type 3.0? I was thinking of going with the EBC redstuff front pads but after reading some reviews they seem to have a noise problem even after they are broken in. Any experience with the EBC on a jag? Whats the best brake pad to go with, the EBC, maybe Akebono, something different, or just the ceramic gold series replacements at the local Advance Auto?? Looking for the best performance with the least dust.

I have Akebono ceramics on my 03 STR. About as dust free as you can get, definitely the least amount of dust of any pad i've had on any vehicle - this includes EBC red/green/yellow/Ultimax, Ferodo, Wearever, and a few others. Not saying those are not good brake pads, I am saying in my experience Akebono's have produced less dust.

Stopping power feels identical to the stock pads if not a smidge better, and no noise issues.

I'm **** about keeping the car clean, and let me tell you switching to Akebono's has saved me hours and hours of wheel cleaning.

Good luck!

I go with Akebono ceramics for daily driving. I'd recommend Carbotech if you plan on heavy duty street work, autocross, or track days.

As above great pads no dust, no creaking when low speed creeping.Fitted mine about 17k miles ago still only approx 70% worn after some pretty harsh braking at times 😉

Another vote for Akebono! My 2005 STR has had then for 40K miles and they are great! Hardly have worn at all. I think they stop great but we have had a few people claim the stock Brembo pads worked better.

I use EBC Redsuff on my 00 S Type - great pads! So far so good - they have been on for 5K miles and no noise issues and great stopping power - no dust build up on the rims.

I have Duralast C-Max from AutoZone, they're great as far as I'm concerned.
