A check engine light bonanza since vehicle speed and rpm won't match expected outcomes.

Use any of the online tyre size things like Alloy Wheels & Tyres for sale: for Cars, Motorhomes, Vans & 4x4s: Best UK prices with TYRESAVE. Also part-worn tyres

They're only about 2.4% different so I see no problem.

I'll agree that the overall diameter being within that range probably will not set a code.

A set of tires larger or smaller in diameter than OEM size will increase speedo error but the vehicle has no idea of it's actual speed over the road so no codes will be set.

Disagree. The computer sees the vehicle speed and sees the engine RPM along with transmission RPM. Something won't match.

How does 'the computer' see the vehicle speed? It sees wheel speed and engine speed. Neither is affected by changing tire size.

The wheel speed is lower with larger diameter tires and that does not compare with the RPM of the engine when the torque converter locks up.

The relationship between engine rpm and wheel speed does not change according to tire diameter. The vehicle physically obviously travels faster with larger tires, but the car has no way of knowing this.

Speedometers do not measure the actual speed of the vehicles, they are 'wheel tachometers' with a scale analogous to velocity.

The only way I can see that it could know would be:
1. different sizes front/rear (ouch!) by enough for it to care
2. if it had a sat nav and compared (it doesn't, even when it could)

Correct on both counts.
