Default 05 S-type B2736 pedal travel sensor

Hi
My S-type 3.0 has a b2736 code. Pedal travel sensor is what it decodes to. My question is where is it located and is there a way to check it ? Is there a way to adjust it? The car runs great and I have not had any problems, this is why I am thinking it may just be a sensor, out of adjustment or perhaps a bad connection. The light does not come on all the time, it may be off for a week then on for a few days and off again.

Thanks guys or gals being "politically correct"

Keith - the B2736 code is referring to the gas pedal - at this point it is showing an intermitient code - could be a loose connection. Otherwise, plan on replacing it.

Question, does the gas pedal feel smooth or grainy? If it feels grainy then another indicator to plan on replacing the gas pedal - from what I hear it is an easy item to replace.

Finally, make sure your floor mat isn't curling up underneath the gas pedal - this could be flagging the DTC as well. Good Luck!

The gas pedal feels smooth the car has 35K miles on it. I was told the pedal travel sensor is part of the brake pedal assembly and you have to buy the whole unit to replace it any ideas?

The reason for the multiple sensors (and they've different characteristics) is to detect and try to prevent the kind of runaway acceleration certain other manufacturers have caused by not having enough sensors

Thanks
I should have mentioned this originally that my traction control light on the cluster comes on at the same time as the amber warning light. I mentioned this and I am told the it has to do with the braking system, but the code b2737 is calling for a pedal travel sensor which is regarding the gas linklage. Now I am confused. My question is where is the pedal sensor located, I was told I have to buy the complete pedal assembly to get the sensor. I have found this on the link you provided and I believe the part is just the sensor. Are they difficult to change? Alldata has nothing regrading this sensor or location. Are there any photo's out there showing the sensor?
Thanks again

If you can find anywhere selling the sensor maybe you can change it but no-one has managed that so far. You can read on here about a few others who have changed the assembly.

ABS/TC is something else.

Question B 2736 code with DSC not available

Hi my 2.5 petrol automatic is intermittently showing same amber warning. How difficult it is it to replace the pedal/sensor, and will this solve the problem?

Best wishes Dave
