Default 05 Water Leak

I have a 05 s type and noticed my rear driver floor is soaking wet with water yesterday. It rained really hard for a few days so I thought it was my sunroof. I cleaned the carpet and started to run the hose on the sunroof to confirm what I thought. Didnt seem to notice any new water. Well tonight I got it my car the floor was wet agian.....it hasnt rained since. So Im back to thinking it my sunroof drain. Must have just leaked down slowly. Anyone know where the drain is located?? Or have an idea of what could be causing the leak. Would this be covered under a ford care extended warranty?? Thanks a lot.....

I had a Chrysler that did this. The air conditioner drain wasn't working and the condensate was coming through the ductwork to the rear floor on the passenger side. Something you might check.

In an Acura and a Lexus that we had, both vehicles had similar leaks caused by the sunroof drains getting clogged by falling leaf and pine straw debris over the years. The fix in both cases was to locate the very small sunroof drain openings on the roof and blow them out with a compressed air hose. Had to do that a couple of times during the 13 years we owned the Acura. Only had to do it once during the 4 years that we owned the Lexus.

Still having the problem if anyone has anymore advice. Does anyone know where the drain is?? I cant seem to locate it. If I took the car in to Jag would this be covered y my extended warranty or considered wear and tear?

Default rear floor leak SB#S501-11

Byron...this may solve your problem. SB S501-11 reads, "some s-type
vehicles may experience water leaking into the rear footwells during/after heavy rains. This is caused by water entering the inner door panel section via the door latch. This water is unable to drain away because the secondary door seal traps the water on the inner door aperture sill panel...."

The fix described involves drilling a drain hole. I suspect it might be covered under warranty since in was a design defect. In any event, when you look at the procedure, it's quite simple and perhaps something you could do yourself.

That does not look like it applies to the 05. The dealer said if it is the sunroof drain it would not be covered under my warranty. I cant find the rear drain to try to unclog.
