I saw that too. Imagine all the money you'll save getting it from Ford. Why it might finance the entire repair! LOL

If it's still available!

I had a 2003 Lincoln LS and a 2005 STR. Ford obsoleted so many parts for the LS it just was not repairable anymore.
Jaguar is much better at keeping parts available but at a higher price.

Post back if you can get it from Ford.

I found out (the hard way) that buying an expensive ready to go obsolete part is PRICELESS AFTER ITS OBSOLETE

Aarcuda did you manage to get the hose?
Not sure if I should reuse mine as it was covered in oil.. And I suspect that this must have been the leak/source of where the surrounding oil spots came from.
Cleaned up all right, must have been weeping through the clamps.

I'd love to post the politics of how some of this all went down..Jag/Rover/Lincoln/Ford/Mazda/PAG all for another day.

jya- My bypass hose looks a lot like your's..looking a pretty long in the tooth.. I'd be interested also if 'Cuda' found a new one.

I have just trial fitted it back now Mark but it's very loose.. Went in it's place a bit too easily.. Just slid on without any resistance. I cleaned it up very well but not too impressed with using it again. The two clamps that hold it in place are very 'heavy duty' and grip very tight but I would like this hose to be a much tighter fit. There's obviously a bit of pressure it has to take and I would think there would be a similar diameter after market option but I haven't done the research yet. I haven't even tried to source the original yet from Jaguar. See if Aarcuda chimes in and I will keep you posted as well.
John.

John-

Just ordered one from SNG Barrett.

https://www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/Eng...20SUPERCHARGED

I need to have all the potential parts on hand when I get into this.

I'm afraid I may have to go a bit deeper than you. I fear the intake gaskets are leaking on my bank 1. When I use the propane method to check my SFT it goes crazy when I direct it under the intake.

Thanks

I have posted this multiple times but the intake gaskets are most likely rock solid.

Are you aware of the P/B vacuum connection on the SC elbow? It's a guaranteed air leak. Try monitoring fuel trims and spray carb cleaner around the hose connection.
It has a terrible design with a rubber internal O-ring that gets hard from all the heat cycling.
We have a $6 brass fitting fix that will repair it forever.

I did get the part but using a jaguar part number. My original was still in good shape so I kept it.

Good job!
Glad you checked it because that leak caused me to remove the SC a second time on my 2005 STR!
A lot of work for something I wish I had fixed when everything was apart.

I did clean and reinstalled this hose but after a few miles its starting to weep oil again.
It appears that its leaking from the body of the hose and not from the clips.
So new it needs to be; can't reuse.
This old thread didn't mention a Jaguar part number; AJ82756 for those that need to replace.
Not sure if anyone has successfully tried an alternative to the ridiculous 30 pounds asking price; for a short bit of reinforced silicone hose, with a Ford part number on it!
I tried, but nothing's coming up on those Ford part numbers.
Car's running okay with the old hose, with no error messages.

Jaguar was owned by Ford. Perhaps we should be surprised that some things don't have Ford's name on them.

My gripe is that it may possibly be a part that may have been originally used on a Ford model or a part that may have been pilfered by Jaguar from the existing Ford parts bin that's masquerading in a Jaguar plastic bag with 'Made in France' on it and marked up to the sh*thouse.
It's a con job, when a part is sitting in a Jaguar box and when you open the box its has 'Motorcraft' stamped all over it and the Ford equivalent is miles cheaper.. The local dealers here in Australia want $97 for that bit of hose, that's about 50 pounds.
Naturally, Ford parts are going to be in the car. Ford owned Jaguar for nearly 20 years, the S-Type wouldn't have been if it wasn't for Ford and the British government. Even the car's chassis has several 'Ford' stamps on it I noticed. Perhaps it should've had the British Governments stamp on it as well LoL.
Buying it from Barratt for much cheaper.

Even if it is/was also used on a non-Jaguar Ford car, finding out may be tough now that Ford have not owned Jaguar for many years unless you do the leg work.
