2000 S-Type cranks, won't start
Either I'm getting frustrated or rhe Jaguar Gods are against me. the fuel line couplers; the red once, pinch tabs in - pull line up (simple). The whitish ones, pinch tabs, push tabs, pull tabs - nadda! Does the fuel line pull out alone or does part of that locking coupler come with it? I don't want to break it but I have tried several ways, using considerable force with no results. All the directions I've read just say "disconnect couplers" at tank. Nowhere does it say "how to" or "in the event of" an uncooperative coupler. This is the primary reason for early baldness in men. please, can anyone share the procedure. Thank you
Be prepared - the 2 plastic notches in the white coupling are prone to breaking/snapping. Whatever you do - do NOT damage that plastic fuel line! What I did was twist the fuel line slightly and make sure both pinch tabs are fully pushed in and pull the fuel line straight up. Another approach - while pushing the pinch tabs in push the fuel line in slightly then pull it straight up. Best to remove these lines while the fuel pump is still in place - before loosening the retainer ring.
Worst case scenario - that white coupling can be separated from the top of the fuel pump - do so with a small flat blade screwdriver. I might even have a pic of one of the old white couplings from the old fuel pump in the box with those newer pumps - if so, i'll snap a pic and show you.

Abonano, cant access our email after storm two nights ago. Comcast working on it - right. Been trying to get the two white fuel couplers off but no luck. The red ones come off ok but broke a tab on each of the white ones and have tried several tactics. They seen to be frozen. tried pushing down and they "seem" to go down a minute amount. they won't budge up or twist at all. The ears on the elbows are bending up from pulling. Tried a flat screwdriver and a forked little tack pry bar and nothing. I'm worried I'm going to break them. sprayed a little lube on them and am working tonight and all day tomorrow; maybe it'll lossen them up. Hopefully our email will be back up by then too.
S-style cranking but not starting .....
I did oil change on jaguar S-type and now car is cranking but not starting...its got plenty of battery power...ok so i jacked up car from one side using Jack in the trunk then I saw the oil filter underneath and removed it...some oil came out then I replaced with new one and that's it... i couldn't find drain plug so I just lowered car back down....ok then I just added half bottle oil to top it off.. after that the car cranks and cranks like the gas is empty...doesn't want to start...no spitting no nothing....Ok then I checked all the related fuses like F.I.& Fuel pump in all places....Under hood... in trunk...passenger side but all fuses are good... OK then I pushed that button in multiple times, the one on driver's side called inertia switch..but it's all right....ok everybody what's left for me to do is to go back over my steps and see if I missed something...so I'm gonna Jack up the car again and check it out......

S-style cranking but not starting .....Its got original 54,000 miles and was working normal before...

YES the rear fuel pump is working normal because i can hear it going when key is turned forward so gasoline is being applied.....otherwise it is a false sound anyways like i said I'm gonna go back over my steps and Jack up the car again and remove the oil filter again and replace with a new purolator tech oil filter and see what really happened......

Please oh please oh please tell us you installed jack stands before crawling under the car. No jack (especially the light-duty one in the trunk) is intended to safely support a vehicle by itself.
S-style cranking but not starting .....car has original 54,000 miles and it was driving excellent...

yes I had Jack stand under the frame angle point.......
OK im gona go over my steps by jacking up the car again and changing the oil filter with Purolater one then carefully check to see if I accidentally knocked out a wire or something.....
its acting like gas tank is empty....i just don't get it

@GeorgiePorgie, use a smart phone with the Torque app to connect to the vehicle's PCM (Powertrain Control Module) through the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port using a Bluetooth interface to read the fuel pressure. There should be 3 bar (300 kPa) of fuel pressure with the ignition in the ON position prior to engaging the starter motor.
If the app shows no fuel pressure, the fuel pump has likely failed.
What is the vehicle MY (Model Year)?

Oki Doki.......like I said I'm gonna go over my steps by doing the same thing all over again...by jacking up car then going underneath & changing oil filter and to see if I accidentally knocked off any wires or something......i have a more practical car which I use on a daily basis..... Hybrid Civic.... My 2003 S-Type is only for once or twice a month taking it on a joy ride.....
Well, you can keep going over the same steps, but if you want to get the vehicle running, a proper diagnosis must be made beginning with checking the battery voltage across the terminals with the ignition OFF.
There needs to be air, fuel and spark for the engine to run.

Ok sir car battery located in trunk has plenty of power... plenty of juice with no sign of weakness.....gas tank has gas....i know that I must have done something wrong underneath the car when I jacked it up and crawled underneath.....like I said I saw the oil filter in a jiffy and hey wait friend....I just remember there was wires & a coil next to the old oil filter.....anyways so when i twisted the oil filter off then some dirty oil came down on those wire & coil..BUT i was able to wipe all clean using a nice clean rag.....OK then i installed the new fresh Purolater oil filter ON... afterwards i looked & looked underneath everywhere for the freakin' Oil drain plug BUT could not find it........
Finally I lowered the car back down and then topped it with just half a court synthetic blend motor oil... 10W- 30......
After that all I did waz turn the key to start the motor so that i can turn on the motor for couple of minutes then turn it back off so then I can truly check the oil dipstick level.........BUT I could not start the darn thing.....it didn't even spit or give any sign that it wants to start..... OK now when I do turn the key, the battery has good power and the motor sounds strong .....BUT car is NOT running and again the battery is strong power with NO sign of weakness......
