Default 2000 S-type key fob operations and locking issues

Hello,
I found no help in the stickies. 1. Has anyone had their key fob locking only front doors on the first push? Sometimes only one of the rear doors is left unlocked.

Mine always deadlocks all doors on the second push of a button and sets the alarm. I doubt this is normal. Manual states that all doors should lock on the first push of lock button, and deadlock and the alarm is set when lock button is pressed again within three seconds.

2. Interior door handle malfunction. Driver door interior locking handle usually opens the locks when motor is running, but not after engine is turned off. Sometimes, on rare basis, the lock doesn't open at all with the handle. Front passenger door handle or key fob, after key is removed from ignition, opens locks normally.

Rear doors do not open from inside after central unlocking if the handle is operated when the doors are still locked. Drive away locking is enabled.

3. The key fob operation distance varies from 10m to 1m daily.

The battery gives 11,7V engine off and the alternator 13,9V with A/C and lights on.

I just refurbished the 3-button fob with button pad ordered from singapore. Battery and microswitches seem to be okay.

Engine iddling is not smooth on N, revs are between 500 and 700 and sometimes it stalls. On P and D revs do not change that much.

Can all of this be due to low battery?

Experiences would be greatly appreciated!

From my own experience and from what I have read on this forum yes the low battery will affect many things. I was getting all kinds of funny things going on and found the test voltage needed to be 12.6 volts on an overnight sit my battery was at 12.3 I replaced my battery with a new one that would show 12.7 or 12.8 and all of my funny little troubles went away not saying that a new battery cures everything but it sure cures a lot of things that give you some headaches. There will be others that will chime in on your question that have a lot more experience on this than I do

11.7V is dead. Expect various weird things. Coils may not fire properly, etc.
