Cool 2001 s type 4.0 knocks at 45 mph

Hi,
This is my first Jaguar. (2001 S type 4.0). I am getting a P0340 code which is a camshaft position sensor. Is this located at the bottom of the
engine? The car is missing at start up and then after it warms up it misses or knocks at around 45 mph, but is smooth at higher speeds. Will replacing the sensor help this? Thanks.

Aha - that's a helpful upgrade!

Means you can grab the codes PDF for your car (I think it's year 2000 but the same) from the FAQs. It shows you the possible causes of that code (bad sensor being one).

Camshaft position sensor are located near the cam shafts (top of motor). You'll find a harness plug exiting the cam covers.
