The Jaguar has sat idle for many years. Need to wench onto flatbed, but cannot release from park. Engine dies not run, new battery, get transmission/break fault on display panel when turning on to attempt putting in neutral.

Do I need to detach drive shaft or is there a way to disengage the park lever/ put in neutral.

Is the lever itself stuck in Park? Or does the lever move but no response from the transmission?

Yes, I’ve seen that video and this particular gearshift box has a wire cage belie the cover, and I do not see that lever that is being pushed by a screwdriver .

 

As indicated, the lever is stuck. With brake peddle pushed, move lever, it beeps but will not move.
on the aforementioned video, not much help, as the underside of the lever assembly, is not as accessible as that in the video.
