hi sorry for late reply just setling in to new home have moved from new Zealand to united Kingdom for work
the way I removed the ignition was removed the panel below steering column then covers around steering column
I decided to take instermint cluster out so I had a better view
Removed ignition connector from ignition switch
then got a hook tool and used it to pull the retaining clip out
Then ignition came out
pull towards steering column

Hope that helps

Take bottom covers off as darrol said. Reach left hand in to back of switch and pull down sharply. Switch will come free of dash. From there you can disconnect electrical plug and cable if desired. There is enough give to pull switch down and to the left to work with it. Dont forget to remove beauty ring around switch also

Thanks guys that is the info I needed. I'm going to a local pick-a-part salvage yard this weekend. I'll get to practice on a junk car first

The switch came out as advertised. It was easy to Switch out; but did not fix my problem. I'll start a new thread for that issue
