The warning lights are up on my dash board so I decided to check the ABS sensors. All sensors are clean and the wiring is in good condition. I'd read elsewhere that you can continuity test them to get a resistance reading. I've tried this on all 4 sensors but am reading an open line - no resistance. The multimeter is working OK. Could something have happened to take out all 4 sensors or am I testing incorrectly?

 

Not much of a test but usually seem to be around 1K ohms.

You can also measure mV and spin the wheel to see a pulse (depends on the meter). A scope would be better!

 

Hi JagV8, thanks for the response. I've just done a bit more reading on the internet and have found you can get active as well as passive sensors. Active ones have a 12vdc feed to them and can be tested by checking the return voltage when spinning the wheel , passive ones have no voltage and can be resistance tested. I guess mine are active sensors so I'll test for current.

 

Have the abs warning ,anti skid ,dsc not available ,.has been diagnosed as rear wheel speed sensor .o.k. But why do I get the engine symbol up as well.
