Default 2004 Won't Start

I have a s type 4.2 that will crank, but won't start. At first, it would die when driving but would start up on its own. It finally died while idling and never started after that. I have fuel pressure in the fuel rail and changed the fuel filter so I guess it not a fuel problem. I then bought a $250 scanner. It shows no codes. I sure hope someone has a idea.

The light is out. I probably checked for pressure in the fuel rail 6 times. The last time I checked, no pressure. Orded a fuel pump and will put it in next week. Will let you know how it goes.

Check the inertia switch just in case it somehow got tripped.

Car has two fuel pumps. On your car one is a transfer or jet pump used to keep the fuel level even between sides. The other pump feeds the engine.

This is NOT true if you have an STR.

I put the new fuel pump in and the pump still won't run. I checked and have 12 volts on the + side of the pump. I found the - side of the pump is the problem. If I run a wire from the - side of the pump to ground, the pump will run and the car starts. Too bad I can't let the pump run any time the key is on.

The pump is PWM from a module so trace wiring back / replace module. Not sure but the signal may be disabled by anti-theft? Consult JTIS as it has all the info.

Using JTIS, The negative wire from the fuel pump to the rear mod should be .5 ohms or less. It was 2.3 ohms. Replaced the wire and everything is fine. It wasn't the connectors, it was actually the wire its self. Thank you for getting me on the right track.
