I'll check at home to see if the 2004 stype is on my JTIS, which is a 2005 version of the disk. Here is a link to get to the download for the earlier (2003 stype latest) program. Give that a shot first, heck..its free.
I was not able to open the downloaded JTIS you linked me to.
However, more importantly, is there no Jaguar repair documentation for the 2005. The link shows this:
The JTIS CD has detailed information for: S-Type 1999.25-2003
I did sign on to Alldata, but I am hoping to augment it with something from Jag.
Thanks!

My JTIS disk (purchased off ebay not quite a year ago for less than six bucks) covers through the 2004 S-Type. I haven't come across any showstoppers. The biggest difference may be in the suspension, which was significantly improved for the 2005 model. But as cheap as these JTIS disks are on ebay, you should go ahead and grab one....

Sorry to disagree but I understand the suspension was only marginally tweaked for 2005. There were other body etc changes. I think it's also when they stopped using the Brembo discs.
If 2005 (or later) data is wanted strongly enough, it is on Jaguar's GTR at www.jaguartechinfo.com but I believe NOT on any discs because they went online only. (I'd think most tasks can be done using JTIS.)

If you read the Jaguar press release for the 2005 S-Type, it describes more than "marginally tweaked" suspensions. I suppose a qualified tech will need to chime in here to accurately describe the improvements....
"The new S-TYPE enhances Jaguar’s reputation for sporting character in a luxury saloon car. In 2002 the S-TYPE gained all-new front suspension and extensively revised rear suspension. The refined and sporty layout continues into the new S-TYPE, with a modified suspension including low friction ball joints and re-tuned dampers, providing improved ride and dynamics. Across the range the new S-TYPE features Servotronic variable-ratio power steering, powerful brakes with ABS anti-lock and Emergency Brake Assist, traction control and Dynamic Stability Control, all as standard equipment.
With the same underpinnings as its immediate predecessor, the new S-TYPE continues to deliver the outstandingly supple ride, taut body control and agile handling that are defining characteristics of Jaguar’s sporting chassis dynamics. Sports suspension with uprated springs and dampers is available as an option, as are 18-inch alloy wheels on all versions of the new S-TYPE.
“The suspension revisions to the new S-TYPE are subtle but significant making the car even more refined and comfortable. The steering is very connected, linear and positive. The driving dynamics overall are a combination of stability and sporting agility, which makes the S-TYPE very satisfying to drive.” Mike Cross, Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, Jaguar Cars. "
The change of revised ball joints and dampers qualifies as a minor tuning adjustment. I could post the actual full word document if anyone wants it.
