Default 2005 V8 System Failure

Hi Everyone,
I've owned my 2005 V8 for almost a year now, and I really love it.
However, twice I experienced a "system failure" and I am wondering what might be causing it.
In both cases, I was stopped at a stoplight. When I pressed the gas to accelerate, nothing happened. The engine was still idling, and the power steering and breaks still worked. Three error messages were flashing on the console: "System Failure", "Cannot Access CRC", and "Parking Break Failure."
In both cases, I pulled over to the curb at idle speed and used the key to turn off the car. I waited about 15 seconds, started the car, and everything was back to normal.
Thank you for your help,
Ethan

sounds like the typical faults associated with a failing battery

+1

Typically when the battery starts to fail on these modern S Types many codes pop up. If you do an advanced search "battery" in the "S Type section" you will see.

harmonica, ditto to the police666 man...she has either loose battery terminals or a weak battery.

+2 on weak or failing battery - check the date code on the battery - if it's older than 3 years - worth getting a fresh battery installed.

Default Thanks!

Thank you for the advice, everyone. I'm having a new battery installed now. I was informed that I had an original battery, so the battery was at least 6 years old, and run about 65,000 miles. I will post again to confirm that the "System Failure" problem is solved.

Excellent! Better than a dealer extracting an exponential amount more money from your piggy bank, huh?
