Default 2007 S TYPE R

Hello everybody,
just curious as to what you all think my 2007 s type r is worth ? It only has 3100 miles, white, and perfect condition.
I have a chance to get a xk8 but im not willing to take a beating on this one as the dealer wants it for nothing, so i thought i might sell it myself
on the market. I keep getting low bids cause they say everybody wants the new xf, which is true im sure.
I love the car and its not like i have to sell it, but i have always wanted the xk8. What do you guys think its worth now...i paid just under 68 grand for it 11 months ago.

If you always wanted an xk8 why did you not buy one 11 months ago instead of an S Type? Prices did not change on an xk8 since then.

Well, used S-types are not holding up, due to the XF, but the dealer is the worst place to trade a used Jaguar. Go to Carmax and see what they will give you if you really must get rid of it. What options did you get? Also white is possibly the worst color, they are very difficult to sell in the luxury end of the market. KBB says $37K-$42K, probably a bit high, so 3rd party might be $36K-$38K if you are lucky. Rule #1, never buy new, let someone else take the bath....

Good luck

I'll trade you my black 07 for your white.

In all seriousnes, I recently priced out my 07 with 12k on it at the dealer and was ofeered $36K. That should give you a rough idea.

best advise is to go auto trader
see what theyre going for in your area
the dealer is always going to lowball you you on a trade in
id definently try to sale the car myself if you can
assuming the xk8 deal can wait for you to sell your car

You'd be lucky to pull 40k from the car. I'd say if the dealer will give you near 40k on it do it. There's a few R's on ebay that have no bids. There's a 05 that has 2 days left with no bids and starting bid is at 19,500. 2006 for 34995 from a jag dealer. I'd say if a dealer gives you near 40k do it.

ultra you would be very silly ( putting it kindly) to move to an XK now, you bought the car brand new so you need to use it a good amount before you sell it. Black book wholesale doesnt have a price for 07 but 06 is going for $34k on the top end assuming your car is like new. That means you would probably need about $20k to step up to an 07 XK... my advice is to keep it for a couple of years and enjoy it, if you want an XK have it as a 2nd or 3rd car. I would never trade a car though autotrader is the way to go!

Yeah for real! If you don't mind losing 30grand you should just buy the xk and hang onto both of them! Your going to be losing the money on the STR anyways! Why not have both!
