Default 2008 S-Type rear suspension to low

The gap between the top of my rear tires and the wheel well is about 3/4" on one site and 2" on the other. The front gap looks normal at about 4". After replacing the rear shocks (keeping the original springs) the clearance looked good on both sides that is until I took it on a test drive. After the test drive the gaps in the rear went back to what I had before the shock replacement. The only thing I can think of now is the springs have somehow become weakened. Anyone else have this problem??? Thought I would ask in case I am missing something. Please advise.

Probably you have a weak or broken spring. However, before buying new springs check you don't have any worn bushes or joints. Another thing that can cause problems is if your wheel alignment is out. Towing in causes the car to lift a little. Towing out causes the car to squat a little.

Alignment recently done. I don't think it is an alignment issue. No broken springs. I swapped them over when I replaced the struts.

Not on the Jag, but I have had to on other cars. I used to have a heavy wife that made my car lean to one side.

So, that car did not have self-leveling? And I am too chicken to ask the next question.

Hahaha. Not it didn't have self leveling. But I eventually fixed the problem. I think you've already guessed how.

Former S-Type owner here. We don't have any surgeons here in the states that will do that. But if trumpy gets back into the orville orifice, I will see if can arrange that.

Have you checked the front gaps? Anything that happens at one corner will apply diagonal loading at the opposite end and side.
