Default 4.0 vs 4.2 parts interchangeability

Hi guys

I have a perfect 2000 V8,, but parts are kind of hard to find here in Sweden. I have access to an early 2004 4.2 that I can strip for parts at a reasonable price.
Does anyone know what parts are worth saving for later use?

I guess:
locks and actuators (they gave me some issues before)
Window regulators (broke mine, but repaired)
brakes
fuel pump
radiator
coils
DCCV ( will this fit?)
injectors (better on the 4.2?)
shocks (?)

what else should I get from the 4.2 you think?

thanks!

Look them up in the (free here/online) parts catalogues.

Lots changed, e.g. DCCV.

Pretty much no to all items listed, except shocks but as JagV8 mentioned cross check before proceeding.

The only way to check that I know is to run down the part numbers in the JEPC and see when they changed.

The JEPC (Jaguar Electric Parts Catalog) is free on this forum. Do a search for JEPC.

did some homework and most of the parts have different partnumbers.

Shocks and brakes are the same. Lock actuators and radiator should be interchangeable. I will just take the some of the listed parts from the donor and see how much they are different. Fun times :-)

I can assure you the radiator is not interchangeable. The 4.0 has an external transmission cooler and the 4.2 transmission cooler is integral to the radiator.

Very true, I compared it with the wrong part number.

Really amazed that Jag changed so many parts after just a few years.

It (2002.5MY / 2003 USA) was a big redesign of the car.

Later on they made some minor tweaks, reasonably called facelifts or the like.
