Default 6HP26 Sleeve Connector Repair

Here is what I learned. Klaus ran out of parts. I ordered the parts from the Jaguar dealer in Vancouver, Canada and had them sent by Greyhound the next day. I ordered a pan, new bolts, sleeve connector and 7 ltrs of Land Rover LRN13754 fluid.

I decided **** on it I'm not gonna crawl under this thing and took it to an AAMCO trans specialist that did some work on my Land Rover. Drove it onto the ramp hoist at 8am and drove out at 9am to test and back on the ramp to top up and down the road at 9:10am. Lurch and 1/2 short shift gone.

Ya only need 6 ltrs of Land Rover LRN13754 fluid which sells for $14 in Canada which should be cheaper in the US. The Land Rover fluid is exactly the same as lifeguardfluid6 at considerably less money. The Jaguar dealer referenced above is also a Land Rover dealer and they stopped using the lifeguardfluid6 years ago cause it was too damn expensive considering.

The whole rich pageantry cost me less than $600 down the road kicking stones.

Advice is worth what ya paid for it...

Thats one way of getting it done. I am taking a rough stab at about $375.00 (US) in labor?

Default Just South of the dotted line...

Greetings Searanch,

I'm always looking for an excuse to cross the dotted line and visit
B.C.; never been to Kelowna. I'm only 120 KM south of Vancouver
and, this spring...if we ever get one..I might pick up the parts and
motor on up to Kelowna and have the Aamco guys do the work
while enjoying the fruits of the local vineyards.

If possible, could you p.m. me indicating what the parts costs were
from the Vancouver dealer and the labor in Kelowna. Sounds like they
have some experience with the transmission and I prefer not to
finance some independents learning curve. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, Searanch. I expect to visit The Great White North sometime in
June or July. Hopefully, Klaus will have restocked parts by then.

Just about a year ago I was ripped-off by a place called the Jag Shop in Portland,
OR. The charged me $360 to drain the pan...not remove or replace...and put in
4 litres of an aftermarket fluid. Ya don't always get what you pay for.

Thanks again.
