I am having a Jag S Type yr 2004
I would like to know if I can upgrade the Headlight set (Halogen lamp) to HID Headlight set?
I check the part number for Halogen lamp headlight sets are

• LH XR855195
• RH XR855193

Can I just simply purchase the HID headlight set from website and replace with my halogen lamp headlight sets?
I checked the HID headlight set part ID are

• LH XR855200 / XR858645
• RH XR858640 / XR858637

My friend said the HID headlight set has automatic lamp leveling, but Halogen Headlight set is manual lamp leveling
If so, what should I do to upgrade the halogen to HID?

 

It's a complete pain to do but also pointless - just buy brighter halogen bulbs.

 

Jagv8 said it right....plus the hid leveling lights have a control module and leveling senders attached to the suspension....but, anything is possible with the knowledge and skills

 

I fitted LED bulbs to mine a couple of years ago, not expensive, plug and play so can be replaced by the original halogens at any time, much better whiter light. Better than HID in my opinion though I've never had HID in a Jag, only in Mercs.
