Living in northern Indiana in the winter can become somewhat of a challenge sometimes. But the one thing I found out last winter is taking the Jag out on a snowy day is no better than being on a saucer sled. So when the weather gets bad it's time to fire up the Jeep.

Does that mean we won't see much of you over the winter then Larry?

I'm guessing you'll be spending some time on the Jeep forum then.

Ah Larry - living in Ontario is about the same - but I don't want to be in a "saucer sled" on the highway, with some other nut driving around on useless tires. Almost time to get the moth ***** & dryer sheets to stuff around the Jag. But then we have something to look forward to all winter...

Last winter was very mild in terms of snow in my area. So the consensus is to moth ball the SType until next spring? Has anyone driven SType year round in Michigan?

I've been driving mine year round every year in all weather since I bought it. It's no better/worse than any other rear wheel drive car. Real snow tires (not the useless 'four season') are mandatory.

If the 300HP 4.2 is OK then the 3.0 should be easier.

I just keep my STR off the road!

Mikey,
Do you have your snow tires mounted on second set of rims or swap tires each season? And Blizzak considered acceptale snow tires?

Blizzaks are very good. I had a 2004 GTO that I put them on at that car was awesome in the winter. With traction control and abs it worked very well. I worry about the people in cars with no tread and 4x4 drivers that forget you have to stop as well as go.

Mine are mounted on a set 16" Jag rims from a 2002 (I think). Found them on eBay, payed next to nothing. Plain black steel rims would work just as well.

Blizzaks are a great tire as ober says.
