02 S type with 3.0 engine and automatic trans.
Getting misfires code and tells the issue is the "air idle control valve" yet when I call for parts, told its only sold as part of the throttle body assembly. The cost for that part is over $2 thousand dollars.
Has anyone here fixed this problem with out spending that kind of money? Find a used throttle body will cost $1100.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

 

Ignore that for now. It's likely a coil or air leak. Which codes did you get?

 

I agree. Buy new plugs and coil packs. Also replace the breather elbow while you are in there along with new upper and lower intake gaskets.


Then, clear all codes and start over.
