Alarm goes off when unlocking using key. key fob battery good
2002 jaguar s type 11 month old battery. Had her ten years now. After sitting for an hour or so the only way to get in is manually unlock door then press unlock on key fob to stop horn.

Forgot to mention. Everything goes back to normal for a while after I start it, key fob works to unlock n all seems well. In all the time I had her only time I experienced the alarm sounding is when the batteries dead & wont start or when i accidentally press the alarm button. Where u @ jag genius

It just started happening couple days ago. Soon as I press unlock on the key fob after manually unlocking and opening driver door horn stops. It needs to b pressed a few times to stop beeping. Will check that method next time. Thinking its a fuse somewhere because once the door opens the fob works again? Also I notice the red light that flashes in the middle front of the windshield isn't flashing.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. Ya seems these older model s types chew thru batteries either that or these canadian winters do. Is there a fuse I can pull to get it from beeping n looking like im breaking in the joint? Will try charging the battery overnight n see if thats it

Atlanta seems like the place to be these days my friend just moved down there. Thought the thrashers were there only nhl team? Ya im going to see if charging it helps but I lent my charger to a friend and he's been playing phone tag. The starts seem fine, maybe they are a little weak tho as it seems it takes a half second longer to start. Might just get the battery replaced if they'll warranty it as its pretty new

In '72, the Atlanta Flames came into the NHL with the NY Islanders. Of course they didn't win the Cup until moving to Calgary. Now that the Thrashers are now the Winnipeg Jets....well I hate to think a Cup is in the near future....
Disconnect the battery and read with a multimeter. If not 13.4 or so volts, then battery is wearing down. I was getting the ghost horn and starts that almost weren't. Mine was reading 12.0 or 11.9 volts. When on the alternator, it was at 13.2, which hid the problem.
BTW, if it's a 24 month battery, it will fail on the 25th month.
