Default Alarm going of randomly, not allowing car to start and killing the battery.

OK, I've got an 01 s type 3.0. About a week ago, the alarm went off for no reason, we reset it and it has done it several times. The other day my wife went out, and when she got back in the car, everything turned on, but the car wouldn't turn over, had to get it towed home. Then, it had a fast blink on the alarm, read that you could read a code by watching the blink, code is 13. Now, the alarm hasn't been going off, but it is discharging the battery at a high rate, charged it, went to work, when I got home 8 hours later, battery was dead again. Any idea where I should start? , any help will be greatly appreciated

You're best reading previous threads about things like current / battery drains as they have all the info already. Expect it to be time-consuming and need a logical mind.

JagV8,
I've been going through the posts looking at battery drain problems, noticed you posted about water in the trunk. What do I have to do after dry it out?.

Thanks, Dan

Fix the seal. It's been described in detail.

JagV8,

I know I need to fix the seal, question was do I need to do anything to the electronics after drying/seal repair? Also, alarm light blinks rapidly then blinks 1 3, could this also be causing the problem?

Thanks, Dan

PATS 'blink-code' reference from the Student Guide.
