Good day all, I got my Jaguar home, I disconnected the battery to do some maintenance, ie change the plugs and fix broken drivers side window. After making sure that the battery was fully charged I reattached the battery and when I opened the door the alarm started going off. I tried using the key fob and the only button that seemed to work was the trunk latch, I heard it actuate, however the other buttons did nothing. I had also put a new battery in the key fob.
Is there a way to disable the alarm without hurting the computer etc???

For some/all years (you don't say yours), use key in ignition.

 

I have the 2002 STS V8

 

So when the alarm sounds put the key in the ignition (you may need to turn to II).
