Aligment Question for Brutal....
Brutal,
Back in the late winter, Bull27 had some ongoing problems trying to get his 2005 STR aligned properly. You set him straight by advising him to essentially do this:
1. Set the rear toe first, by the shop machine's listed specs.
2. Next, set the caster and camber by the shop machine's listed specs. The front negative camber should be as close as possible to even in order to prevent "pushing" from one side to the other.
3. Finally, set the front toe-in. For both front wheels, the more toe-in towards +.13, the better. Combined front toe-in should be +.26. This reduces wear on the inside front tread which is what always happens when front toe-in is set to original Jaguar factory specs. When setting the front toe-in, make certain the steering wheel is locked, otherwise the vehicle winds up with an off-center steering wheel.
Does this procedure also apply to my 2005 S-Type 3.0? If not, what modifications need to be made to your procedure to get the alignment right for my 3.0? When I purchase new rubber come December or January, I want to ensure that a proper alignment is done.
As always, thanks for your willingness to share your expertise with us here on the forum....

yes, except its okay to have alittle more negative camber on the right front which will push slightly left counteracting road crown to the right side of most roads. And check suspension deflection while setting front toe(remember Mercedes pressor bar proceedure)
And yes same specs for 03 and up, just make sure they dont use incorrect specs if theyre loaded in the alignment machine
