2002 S-Type 4.0, airbag light comes on at start up, blinks intermittently 3, 6, 3, 6 (8 times), then stays solid. Any help on where to look to solve the problem? Assistance much appreciated!!

I have that as B2292 centre pretensioner circuit rear - open circuit
but also as possible short to battery (there's a sub-code you don't get via flashes)

 

Do a search on airbag code 36. Report back what you find.

Before chasing a number of ghosts, does your cruise control, or steering wheel audio controls work? If not, it's most likely the clock spring. Airbag was first symptom that spread to the others on the steering wheel.

That's what happened to me. Symptoms get worse over time, until nothing on the steering wheel works.

 

Cruise control, audio and everything works on the wheel. The only other things that don't work anymore is the trunk latch (inside), and the back up alarm.
Guy on my job told me the sensor at the front bumper is sticking and to just spray it with some WD40.
