Wish we were taking the 03 STR to North New Jersey (2 hours) but wife, four kids, and gifts would transform her into the buggy for the Beverly Hillbillies. So in the Ford Expedition we go. Be well all and Merry X-mas!

"The best-laid plans and all that...." Had plannd to launch Sat morning on the 950 mi, 15 hr trek to Lexingon, KY to see my folks-but with the wife and 5 kids (2 bigger than me, now and one almost) there is no Jag to fit the bill, #Excursion. With work and Ballgames Friday, just didn't get ready to launch, so set for Sunday morning; 13yr old started throwing-up at dinner Sat night...(We would have to return Wed due to kid's committments) But Sunday the 13 yr old came 'round, felt better, held food down, no "Dyin' rear" (can't spell it) ...and Bro & Family coming up from S. Carolina...sis & fam live nearby...so called back and told them everyone 4.0 and we'll launch ~3:30 am Mon.
But alas, 10:30 pm the wife's cell rings - it's the 17 yr old. Apparently, he'd gone outside to puke and I'd locked him out when I closed the garage door. So we canceled for good. Maybe God's providence in saving us from a harrowing ride home on Wed if the storms develop as forecast. Merry Christmas to all, and those traveling, be cautious and safe - I shan't be in your way.

I've driven 700 miles from the North of England (50 miles south of Scotland) down to the English Channel at Folkestone, crossed to France on Eurotunnel and then down to Saumur in central France.
For those of you driving big distances in the US this Christmas where only the accent changes, this trip involves driving on the opposite side of the road and speaking a different language.
Best wishes to all for a safe and happy Christmas.

We are staying home this XMas but there is no better long road trip than in your Jag. My 2 trips to Texas and back still fill me with great memeories.
Stay safe, enjoy and Merry Christmas.

Our 350 mile round trip was flawless! I really love the ride and the comfort of the S Type. This was the first time I got to put some miles on her and I have to say it was fantastic and my wife made a good choice when she picked this car.
Everything worked as it should it rained the wipers came on, it got dark the lights came on, I needed to pass a SUV doing 90 stepped on the gas no problem everything was smooth.
Sorry if im going on but its my first "luxury" car and I really had a nice time during the drive! sure we would have gotten there a lot faster in my Mustang but it wouldn't have been as nice thats for sure, I'm hooked told the wife I might start looking for a S Type R! lol

Yeah, the ZZR could have gotten me there faster and about 50 mpg, but with that weather and the black ice, I would be dead by now.
I'll trade that any day for a warm, comfy drive in the Jaaag!
Wife and I drove my S Type 4.0 from New Hampshire to the Outer Banks for a few days then to Raleigh for a few days then back to New Hampshire. Averaged 25 mpg, car ran great, comfortable, no problems in a little snow and ice we ran into; about 2000 miles round trip and we had a great time. I can't say enough good stuff about the Jag.
did a 400+ mile round trip on the 27th from liverpool to swansea and back again, to visit family, to spice things up on the way home we decided to program the satnav (not the factory unit but sygic on a samsung S3) with the shortest route setting and follow its directions, i don't think i'll be doing that again !!!
