Previously symptoms were intermittent loss of sound right after start up. Only would last for a few minutes. Since a few weeks ago it is one permanent. System also always shows "no phone fitted" and usually (not always) does not acknowledge the cd changer.

Back when the symptoms were intermittent I had the car looked at by an Indie Mechanic for my vacuum leak (soon to be another post) and he found the following AUDIO codes:

B2477 Control module configuration failure
U2008 audio phone not responding
U2607 unknown trouble code description

I looked around and could not find any loose connections. Only remaining idea I have is to momentarily disconnect the battery? To resolve this I'm considering making my first ever visit to the Jag dealer (except for my $15k purchase two years ago).

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hey thanks. I went to the Internet and found this description of some diagnostics.

http://www.justanswer.com/car/1c9re-...oblem-nav.html

The fibre optic fittings in the trunk all had flashing red lights meaning signal,is getting there from the audio unit in the dash. That webpage recommended disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds and that seems to have resolved this for now. Good thing because the fellow in that webpage had to replace the amp and cd changer.
