No reason you should know this, but any auto shop should: any car can have these issues. Next someone gets to figure out why. They're very well known: battery not charging properly, bad connection, damp/water getting in somewhere, etc. We can probably talk you through them if you want to DIY but you'll need time, tools, patience and other stuff that escapes me right now. So, DIY or auto shop? Anyone with ideas chime in

Simples says the meerkat: If you don't put some current in, you won't get any current out. A new battery when being held up by the car's charging system (engine running, alternator charging) will read precisely 14.4volt on a digital voltmeter. I've seen these DVMs for as little as a fiver in the cheap shops. Stop the engine and it will fall to around 12.6volt pretty quickly, esp. if there's a load like headlamps.
If you don't get 14.4volt with engine running, check alternator drive belt that it's not skidding on the pulleys (the classic shriek as engine is revved up from idle). A skidding belt gives a charge, but a poor one. Otherwise it's a new/reconditioned alternator.

Do you leave your car outside over night or do you have a garage?

Sometimes the cold weather can drain a battery down if not started in a while.....and here in the midwest it can get stupid cold!
